An Important Time for Design (January) // Important essay by Cameron Koczon: “The ideal team includes both design and development, working in tight communication and mutual respect from the beginning. This is an enviable dynamic and surprisingly uncommon.” Good to see this kind of symbiosis sprucing up in the startup scene!

Úll was sensational

Úll Conference was mind-blowing. This being my first conference ever, I did not know what to expect, and I did initially have doubts about whether spending a thousand euro out of my pocket would be worth it. A few hours into the conference, I was sure it absolutely was. (The luscious Saturday dinner banquet at the Kilmainham Royal Hospital, concocted by a Michelin-star chef, made the ticket even seem underpriced.)

In preparation for my New York adventure, I replaced my MacBook Pro 15″ from work with a MacBook Air 13″. I went for the entry-level model, which I also have been recommending to anybody who asked me what laptop they should buy. So I went to the Apple Store and told the guy in blue that I wanted the basic 13″ Air.1

  1. Interesting how he made sure which one I meant: “The one for 1249€?” It’s testament to Apple’s minimalistic product line-up. ↩
